Home Delivered Meals Provides limited number of well balanced, hot meals are delivered to homebound elderly by volunteers. Persons over 60 who are unable to prepare a meal, do not have anyone in the home to prepare a meal for them and who cannot leave home to attend a nutrition center are eligible if a meal is available. Frozen meals may be available to homebound persons over 60 who live in areas where there is not a nutrition center. Liquid supplements can be provided for persons who have a prescription for it, and who must rely on it for their complete meal. FARMERS MARKETS - The FARMERS MARKET NUTRITION PROGRAM gives low-income seniors, women and children coupons to redeem for fresh fruits and vegetables at local farmers markets and roadside stands along with related nutrition education. Age - person must be 60 years of age or older on the day of issuance, no one under age 60 is eligible. 2. Income level - household gross income must not exceed: $18,200……for a household of ------1 ($1,517.00 monthly) $24,500……for a household of ------2 ($2,042.00 monthly) $30,800……for a household of ------3 ($2,567.00 monthly)
ALABAMA FOOD STAMP PROGRAM/SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM Program Description: The Food Stamp Partnership administers the Food Stamp Program in Alabama. The Food Stamp Program's purpose is to end hunger and improve nutrition by providing monthly benefits to eligible low-income households to help them buy the food they need for good health. The eligibility rules and benefit amounts, based on income and household size, are determined by regulations issued by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service. ALABAMA FOOD STAMP APPLICATION	Any low income person or family who qualifies. See website for details.
ALABAMA WOMEN, INFANTS & CHILDREN (WIC) A supplemental nutrition program for pregnant women, breastfeeding women, women who had a baby within the last six months, infants, and children under the age of five. Call your local county health department to apply. Call toll-free at 1-888-942-4673 for the agency closest to you.	You must be a resident of the State of Alabama, pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum woman, infant or child up to 5 years of age and: (1) are individually determined by a health professional to be at nutrition risk; and, (2) meet an income standard, or are determined automatically income eligible. A person who participates or has family members who participate in certain other benefit programs, such as the Food Stamp Program, Medicaid or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, automatically meets the income eligibility requirement.
NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM and the NATIONAL SCHOOL BREAKFAST PROGRAM If you are low income call or fill out an application at your child’s school to get free and reduced price meals.	Any low income school age child going to school
THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM A Federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income needy persons, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance.	Households, low-income seniors, and homeless people who meet individual state's criteria and/or income eligibility requirements.
ALABAMA LOW-INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LIHEAP) Assists low-income Alabama residents with the high cost of home energy.	You must be a resident of the state of Alabama, you must need financial assistance for home energy costs and your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $16,245 if one person lives in the household; $21,855 if two people live in the household; $27,465 if three people live in the household; $33,075 if four people live in the household; $38,685 if five people live in the household; $44,295 if six people live in the household; $49,905 if seven people live in the household; $55,515 if eight people live in the household; and $61,125 if more than eight people live in the household. For larger households, add $5,610 for each additional person in the home.
ALABAMA ALL Kids - CHILDREN'S HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM Application packets are available at your local county health departments and may also be obtained in your community at many doctors' offices, hospitals, social service agencies, schools, and pharmacies.	Children and teens may be for ALL Kids if they are: under 19 years of age, a resident of Alabama, and a US citizen or eligible immigrant. Depending on your income, you may have small premiums and co-pays for coverage.
ALABAMA FAMILY ASSISTANCE provides financial assistance to meet basic needs for families with a dependent child under age 18 or age 19 if s/he is a full time student in a secondary school or in the equivalent level of vocational or technical training and whose income and resources do not exceed established agency standards. Jackson County Contact Information	You must be a resident of Alabama, either pregnant or responsible for a child under 19 years of age, a US national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident, have low or very low income, and be either under-employed (working for very low wages), unemployed or about to become unemployed.
ALABAMA MEDICAID A health insurance program for certain low-income and needy people paid with Federal, state, and county dollars.	You must be a resident of the state of Alabama, a US national, citizen, permanent resident, or legal alien, in need of health care/insurance assistance, whose financial situation would be characterized as low income or very low income. You must also be either pregnant, blind, have a disability or a family member in your household with a disability, be responsible for children under 19 years of age, or be 65 years of age or older.
ALABAMA SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM Provides free, nutritious meals and snacks to help Alabama children in low-income areas get the nutrition they need to learn, play, and grow, throughout the summer months when they are out of school.
